We have just passed the first anniversary of the publishing of this wonderful book by Brian Tibbs. It is a beautifully done and unique book honouring the memory of individuals who lost their lives while serving Canada. The author’s research into the service of these individuals is beautifully presented with maps, photos and supporting information. If you are Christmas shopping for someone with an interest in the military or local history this would make a wonderful gift. You can order one from the Services tab on our website or by calling us directly at 905 934-1173.

We put them to work cataloguing historical papers from the Esther Summers collection. Identifying and packaging damaged books. Removing duplicate copies from the Donald McDonald collection and listing the contents of research materials recentley donated from Betty Harley. It was a wonderful day! They accomplished alot and seemed to enjoy themselves as well. The attached picture shows two of our Brock volunteers. Today we started integrating books from several sources into the library and rearrange the collection on additional shelving in both the library and the reading room. We now have alot more material! If you haven’t been to Mayholme or haven’t been there this year you should pay us a visit.
We recently were out at Norfolklore in Simcoe and managed to make some contacts and sell some books

Spring finally arrived and after discussing changes over the winter we went hog wild. The big windstorm in April that took out hundreds of trees in this area forced us outside to cleanup our 4 acres of park-like setting.

Brenda had a pre-smoke brainstorm this Tuesday which resulted in the streamlining of the Library as shown above. This will help us when we add over 1000 new books and periodicals to the library which were donated recently by the family of Donald McDonald of Niagara Township.

The Mayholme Foundation has recieved a large donation of books and research materials from our well-known friend and long-time research associate, Esther Summers.

In case you are wondering, Esther is fine but she has moved into a smaller place and has decided to give us the largest part of her collection, now, due in part to space constraints.

Our volunteers, led by Brenda Young, have many months of work ahead to organize this material and integrate it into our library.
